Yesterday, Heather and I spent the morning ripping sheets into strips for a) our stuffed animal mummies, and b) our class mummy for the funeral procession.

Today after lunch, everyone got into their costumes and we began wrapping the mummy.
(that is a real boy, he even hand drew the mask for the mummy. He was so still the whole time. The only time he talked was when he exclaimed, "weeeeee!" as he was pushed up the ramp to reenter the school.)

(that is a real boy, he even hand drew the mask for the mummy. He was so still the whole time. Some bragged that they made is all on their own. Pretty great, huh?

The mourners. They wailed and cried through the whole procession (around the school). I was super surprised at how theatrical these students were!

Canopic jar holders. Lungs. Stomach. Intestines. Liver.

The gods. Look at how awesome their costumes are!

The goddesses (and sarcophagus holders). Some of them complained about having the makeup on, wondering if it was smeared, and saying their eyes were stuck together (?). But it was obvious that they LOVED dressing up (makeup and all) for this procession!

And of course, we didn't miss out on an opportunity to dress up with them.
